| Description: | Almstead Lawn Care Specialists work with the latest technology and information in treating our customer’s landscapes. As a Lawn Care Specialist, you’ll require a strong horticultural background as well as the field skills necessary to identify turf species, evaluate soil conditions and identify insects, weeds and diseases common to cool season turf. You’ll work closely with Arborists and customers, providing critical feedback and recommending appropriate treatments to maintain our clients turf with a quality they’ve come to expect. We work hard to ensure our PHC Specialists are the best in the business by providing them with the resources, tools and education they need to remain leaders in their profession. Responsibilities: • Obtain all supervisory licensing required by state and local regulations in our areas of operation. • Diagnose, evaluate and treat for insect, weed & disease conditions as they arise. • Understand, operate and maintain all related equipment. • Ability to identify local turf species. • Ability to identify turf-weed species and methods of control. • Ability to identify insects common to local turf and demonstrate an understanding of their life cycles and methods of control. • Ability to identify common turf disease and prescribe controls. • Posses a general understanding of soil science and its relation to turf culture. • Maintain a safe and controlled work environment adhering to Company policy and state and local regulations. • Maintain all related records and documents required for tracking the application of pesticides and fertilizers. • Maintain open communication with consulting Arborists and clients providing feedback on turf care issues. Requirements: Two/four degree in arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, floriculture, silviculture, plant science, plant pathology, plant biology, environmental science or related field. Non-degreed candidates with a minimum of five years industry experience will also be considered. Candidates shall demonstrate their ability to effectively communicate and must possess a valid driver’s license.
